a list of things I want to do before summer says goodbye
cosy season is near but i am not ready
Wear the top with no sleeves even though I am self-conscious about my arms
Spend a day at the park reading
Write a love letter to the season because as much as I love cosy autumn and the excitement of spring, nothing feels more like home than summer
More cloud gazing — I sent a picture to my mum of a cloud that looked like a pig and she could see it too and it made me feel close to her
More writing about deep blue skies and the heat on my skin — my way of soaking up every last drop of summer
Remember the pictures the sun draws on my living room walls with the shadows of my belongings on the windowsill
Have a BBQ at my mum’s house
Walk the streets of central (London) before it gets too cold to wander aimlessly
More staring out of my window to watch the clouds pass, the juxtaposition of the green trees and a clear blue sky, birds landing on the chimney outside of my window
Wearing sandals which I have never really known the subtle pleasures of until last year
Wear that dress I just bought from Nobody’s Child that makes me feel elegant and summery
Enjoy the decreasing number of bright early mornings we have left before it means starting and ending our days by touching a light switch
Have more drinks with ice so I can hear the *clink clink* and feel cold liquids fill my chest
More hugs from the sun
More picnics with friends
Another day at the beach
Read Hot Milk by Deborah Levy again
Take pictures on nature walks before the autumn colours set in

writing a love letter to the season is beautiful! what a powerful way to romanticize life and truly submerge yourself in the essence of gratitude :)
I love summer dearly, I think it's the time where I thrive the most. I think you've captured that 'feeling' through your writing :))
