this was such an interesting read (and posts like these are usually how i find my next books to read!). i love my local library and go all the time (it's actually also currently going through renovation so i have to go to the next closest one for the time being lol). i just finished "a place for us" yesterday and absolutely loved it

I love reading posts like this too and I also find really good reads from them! I'm hoping someone does the same with mine :') ooh nice I just read the synopsis and it doesn't sound too bad! hope both our library renovations are worth the wait!🩷

I love that you're reading so much about Yoga! If you want recommendations when the library is back open on the topic of trauma being held in the body- I'd be happy to help! Also Brett Larkin (one of the authors you mentioned!) has a podcast which is great!

oh absolutely pls give me your recs! I've heard that it's not stored in the body but rather people do these "releases" and get into certain positions that they were in when the trauma occured thus prompting a response, have you heard that theory? also thank you I didn't know about the podcast🥰

I have heard of that and it would make sense. And there’s been some new research published recently so there’s a bit of a debate raging about whether trauma ‘lives in the body’ or not but of course, brain + body are connected ✨ and so we feel things there either way.

Book recs incoming!
