Appreciate your honest review, I hadn't heard of Boox before! I have all the same regrets about my Kindle and its UX, and you've influenced me to switch once mine dies... But similar to the DVD // Blu-ray transition a million years ago, I'm left with the issue of having a ton of incompatible Kindle books.
Boox should 100% incentivize Kindle users by promising to move over all your already-purchased Kindle books for free -- THAT would make me switch NOW! ;)
ah i'm so glad to introduce you! and yeah i see the issue hmm there msut be a way to download all your books as e.pub files or something onto your computer so you can send them to your boox device afterwards. i hope that's a thing!
I've been thinking about a Boox when my kindle eventually dies. I love your review of it! What I really related to was everyone looking at you odd when you want to paint a room something other than a "timeless color."
i'm glad you enjoyed the review! honestly i feel like i'm holding a dream every time i use it haha and yes! what is so wrong about colourful houses people??
I love my Kobo!! A few years ago when I purchased it, I did some research and discovered I couldn’t download library books onto the Kindle (at least not in Australia, assume elsewhere too?), so that made my decision easy (and I don’t want to support Amazon, but that’s another story!).
I have an old Kobo Nia which was the cheapest one on the market at the time, and it’s not perfect but I have loved it so much. It has been an essential friend on so many holidays, especially since I travel carry on and can’t be bringing 12 books with me on a 6 week trip!!
oh i didn't even know you couldn't do that with a kindle, gosh it's so limited. i'm glad you love your kobo though, if for some reason i wanted a second ereader i would definitely get one of those hehe. also big mood on not being able to bring 12 books on holiday, thank god for ereaders!
I've not heard of a Boox before! I'm actively trying to step away from Amazon (my resolution for this year is to not buy a physical good from there, or use Prime Video) but I do love my Kindle and it is still in good condition - however, when it finally gives up the ghost I will definitely be looking at a Boox to replace it! I also love the look of the Communicator, I've actually been wishing something similar to that existed for quite a while.
yay! i'm so happy to introduce you! hopefully they'll have really stepped up with some fun new features by the time you're ready to get one😊 and right! i miss my blackberry so much :(( this is so, so close
Thank you for the recommendation! I love the suggestion of reading everything on an e-reader, but I'm still trying to work with the Kindle I received as a gift last year. Also wanted to say yes to painting your new house in colour! Every room in my flat has at least one colourful wall, including a pumpkin orange living room, and it brings me joy every day
