Good morning! I’ve been working on my morning schedule for a few weeks now. I open the windows and blinds, I drink my water and make my bed while listening to posts like this or to a short clip of a podcast. Then I go make my coffee and breakfast and sit by the window and rest for a few before jumping into work.
This was a lovely reminder that there is intentionality and benefit to the slow and easy morning ❤️ thank you!!
ooh that sounds like a wonderful start to the day! also I never thought of listening to substack articles while doing something like I would with a podcast so thank you for that haha. I'm glad my writing resonated with you🤎
exactly!!!!! exactly. i love my little rituals although i do struggle to peel myself out of bed in time to engage with many of them before work... they tend to be a post-shift reward in my case. but this encourages me so much to make them a prerequisite of my days rather than a last-minute finale. thank you<3
i start my mornings off with gratitude! it automatically puts me in a better mood and is a good way to wake up. i take my time with it. some days it’s quicker than others but i block out a piece of my morning to dedicate to gratitude! lovely post!
ooh you've reminded me I am horrendously overdue a bubble bath, sounds divine and yes mornings, as you can probably tell lol, are also my favourite time of day :')
I can tell that there isn't going to be a conventional plot but I like how you get to know all the characters and their realistic dramas. It's like watching a movie with a lot of good actors.
Even on days where I don't feel like leaving my bed, that feeling quickly vanishes when the doggos are ready to start their day. I agree that calling it a "routine" makes it sound less magical than it really is, because it’s truly a blessing to share that quiet, collective time together as we slowly defrost before being pulled into our different responsibilities. Thank you for capturing this essence!
"lifting my head and seeing that my living room has been flooded with sunlight" - honestly the best part of my early morning routine! I'm starting to realise how much I'm affected by sunlight (or lack of). People think it's sunny year-round in Australia, but we have pretty dark and cold winters...

yes! someone literally described it as a kdrama which hooked me haha and was certainly accurate!
❤️ mornings - the quiet before the day begins - your morning sounds wonderful- my rituals are few but always a good book and a good coffee 📚☕️
