hello quiet readers, today’s post is for paid subscribers. if you’d like to support my work and receive extra ways to quieten your life every other friday, access to all weekly posts and the podcast, and some creative writing here and there, consider upgrading your subscription today. it would mean the world to me <3 have a lovely weekend!

for the past couple of months, i have been floating in between two stages of my life, like i am the small parting of sky on a tree-lined street, leaves and branches on either side of the road almost touching, but not quite, creating an ominous woodland dome. i am neither here nor there, just existing in the middle, waiting for that one phonecall before the next chapter of my life begins. it could go really well, something terrible could happen. but for now, there is no wind. these tree branches are stuck in a still, lifeless air. this chapter of my life is waiting for the page to finally turn, for the pin to drop, for adam to finally grasp the hand of god.

but for now, i have to wait. and it’s uncomfortable. i am waiting for external factors to change my life and that makes me impatient and restless. so naturally, i write to feel some sort of release in the mean time.

and just in case you also feel like you’ve been staring at a darkened sky waiting for a rainfall that never seems to arrive or like the honey will just never run off the spoon, here are a couple of questions to ask yourself to help you find peace in the waiting or give yourself the nudge you need to turn that next page.
